The SAKAI SW884ND is a specialized, high-performance double drum asphalt roller engineered for advanced paving where precision and adaptability are paramount. The operator can select between vibration and/or oscillation, with the unique ability to oscillate in both drums simultaneously. Our oscillation is uniquely gear-driven which reduces maintenance compared to some competitors’ belt-driven designs. Oscillation allows for achieving critical density and superior smoothness in specialized applications such as thin lift compaction, paving on bridge decks, near sensitive structures or utilities, and perfecting watertight joints, all without damaging underlying infrastructure. Powered by a reliable Cummins diesel engine, and weighing just over 14 tons with wide 79-inch drums, unlike most rollers on the market, its low center of gravity provides exceptional stability and a confident feel.
