Low profile ROPS (Roll Over Protection System or Structure) are available for the SW884 and SW994 highway class asphalt rollers. Whereas the standard ROPS bar gives an overall machine height of 128.75″ (10 feet 8 3/4 inches) equipping the optional low pro ROPS results in a total machine height of 122″ (10 feet 2 inches) or a clearance savings of 6.75″. A low profile ROPS primarily reduces transport height for passing under low clearance bridges or overpasses by allowing some flexibility in trailer type. Additionally, the lower ROPS helps in situations where overhead clearance during paving is a challenge such as county or municipal canopy roads with low hanging branches overhead. All ROPS are performance tested by the supplier to withstand rollovers for each machine weight class.
