Hawaii Asphalt Paving Industry (HAPI) member Jon Young goes behind the scenes at the SAKAI America, Inc. factory to explore the world of asphalt roller manufacturing! The included a recap of the manufacturer’s impressive growth, production lines for asphalt and soil compactors, and their extensive North American dealer network. Jon had a chance to see the industry-first Guardman emergency automatic braking safety system in person as well as learned how to operate the SW884 highway class double drum roller for the first time so that he could try Guardman from the operator seat.
